Discussion on the Configuration of Irrigation Facilities in the Cultivated Paddy Field Project in the Shallow Hill Area
Abstract：The cultivated paddy field project develops, reclaims, and organizes land resources through land leveling works, irrigation and drainage works, field road works, farmland ecological environment restoration works, and other works to transform suitable land into paddy fields. It focuses on integrating areas with existing, ongoing, and planned large and medium-sized water conservancy projects and various farmland construction projects, and through unified planning and reasonable layout, it achieves regular and contiguous paddy fields that are convenient for farming production, improving the quality of arable land and grain production capacity. The project is located in the Hongyan hilly area of the Sichuan Basin, which belongs to the shallow hilly topography of the basin's periphery. The region mainly relies on the Tuo River for water supply, and there is a significant elevation difference between the water intake points and the irrigated fields. By reasonably calculating and configuring the irrigation facilities, it ensures the water demand for farmland irrigation and solves the long-standing problem of relying on natural rainfall for farming in the local area.
