Intervention Effect of a Multidimensional Psychological Nursing Model Based on the MPNFS Theory on Adolescents with Depression
Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the impact of a multidimensional psychological nursing model based on the MPNFS theory (Medication, Psychological Intervention, Nursing, Family Care, and Social Support) on adolescents with depression. Methods: A total of 88 adolescents with depression were selected from a tertiary general hospital in Shanxi Province as the study subjects. The control group received routine psychological nursing and family health education, while the intervention group received comprehensive psychological nursing interventions guided by the MPNFS theory in addition to the interventions provided to the control group. Before and after the intervention, the levels of hope [Adult Dispositional Hope Scale (ADHS) scores], parent-child closeness [Parent-Child Closeness Scale (PCCS) scores], social support levels [Perceived Social Support Scale scores], and the degree of depression and anxiety [Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD) and Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA) scores] were compared between the two groups. Results: After the intervention, the intervention group showed higher levels of hope, parent-child closeness, and social support scores compared to the control group (P<0.05), while the scores for anxiety and depression were lower in the intervention group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of the multidimensional psychological nursing model based on the MPNFS theory in adolescents with depression can enhance parent-child closeness, social support, and levels of hope, and improve anxiety and depressive symptoms.
