Application of Full-process Integrated Trauma Quality Control System in Optimizing the Emergency Treatment Process for Severe Trauma Patients
Abstract:Objective: To explore the application of a full-process integrated trauma quality control system in optimizing the emergency treatment process for severe trauma patients. Methods: A retrospective case-control study was conducted. A total of 64 severe trauma patients admitted to the trauma intensive care unit (ICU) of a tertiary general hospital in Shenzhen from July 2018 to July 2020 were selected as the control group, and 64 severe trauma patients admitted to the trauma ICU from August 2020 to August 2022 were selected as the experimental group. The control group received traditional treatment, while the experimental group received the full-process integrated trauma quality control system. The differences in key time points such as emergency blood transfusion preparation time, time from admission to completion of computed tomography (CT) examination, preoperative preparation time for emergency surgery, emergency department (ED) length of stay, ICU hospitalization time, total hospitalization time, as well as differences in ED resuscitation success rate and overall mortality rate were compared between the two groups. Results: Compared with the control group, the experimental group showed significant reductions in emergency blood transfusion preparation time, time from admission to CT examination completion, preoperative preparation time for emergency surgery, ED length of stay, ICU hospitalization time, and total hospitalization time (all P < 0.05). The ED resuscitation success rate was significantly improved (P < 0.05), and the mortality rate was significantly reduced (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The full-process integrated trauma quality control system can effectively shorten the key time points in trauma treatment, providing the 'golden time' for the treatment of severe trauma patients, improving treatment outcomes and resuscitation success rates. It provides a reference model for the treatment of severe trauma patients and the construction of trauma centers in Chinese hospitals.
