Observation on the Efficacy of Moxibustion at the Bladder Meridian Points Combined with Chinese Herbal Hot Compress Applied to the Uterine Point in the Treatment of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease of Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis Type
Abstract:Objective: To explore the efficacy of moxibustion at the Bladder Meridian points combined with Chinese herbal hot compress applied to the Uterine point in the treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease of Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis type. Methods: From June 2023 to June 2024, 80 patients with Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis type pelvic inflammatory disease were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, each with 40 cases. The control group received conventional gynecological treatment and external application of Chinese herbal hot compress on the lower abdomen. The observation group added moxibustion at the Bladder Meridian points and combined it with the external application of Chinese herbal hot compress on the Uterine point. After 7-10 days of treatment, the therapeutic effects (efficiency rate), TCM syndrome scores, and pain scores (VAS pain scale) of the two groups were compared. Results: After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Both groups showed significant decreases in TCM syndrome scores, with the observation group showing a lower score (P<0.05). Both groups had reduced pain scores, and the observation group had a lower score (P<0.05). Conclusion: The combination of moxibustion at the Bladder Meridian points and Chinese herbal hot compress applied to the Uterine point is highly effective in treating patients with pelvic inflammatory disease of Qi Stagnation and Blood Stasis type, effectively improving clinical symptoms, reducing pain, and having high safety.
