Abstract:To study the effect of microbial and non-biological flocculants on the filtration characteristics of coal slurry flocs, filtration specific resistance of coal slurry was taken as an evaluation index, and the orthogonal test method was applied to study the filtration characteristics of coal slurry flocs adding Bacillus subtilis,Phanerochaete chrysosporium and Polyacrylamide (PAM).The results show that all the three flocculants can improve the filtration characteristics of coal slurry flocs. When added separately, the filtration specific resistance of flocs are 2.683 1×109,2.040 6×109 and 2.137 3×109 cm/grespectively.However,better effects can be achieved when the microbial and non-biological flocculants are jointly added in coal slurry.Compounds with different flocculants would lead to significantly different experiment results.Under optimum conditions, the minimum filtration specific resistance of coal slurry compound adding Bacillus subtilis and PAM is 0.713 9 × 109 cm/g,which is the maior contribution of Bacillus subtilis;the minimum filtration specific resistance of coal slurry compound adding Phanerochaete chrysosporium and PAM is 0.891 7 × 109 cm/g,with Phanerochaete chrysosporium playing a key role.
