Abstract:To clarify the effect of hydrodynamics and water chemistry on coalbed methane (CBM) enrichment, hydrogeological characteristics of Baode block in eastern Ordos were studied.Through hydrodynamics analysis, hydrochemical analysis and mathematical statistics, favorable areas for CBM were selected.Based on the abundant dynamic production monitoring data and laboratory test data, hydrodynamic zoning research, quantitative characterization of water chemical field and hydrogeological controlling research on CBM were conducted.Consequently,an evaluation index system for the optimization of CBM enrichment area was established. The hydrogeological zoning method, hydrogeological gas-controlling mechanism and enrichment area selection method were also proposed to optimize CBM enrichment areas.Research results show that favorable areas for CBM accumulation are hydrological weak runoff and stagnant areas characterized by superimposition of NaHCO3-type groundwater, mineralization degree of over 1 500 mg/L,sodium chloride coefficient of less than 1.7 and desulfurization coefficient of less than 5.Two favorable zones namely Class-Ⅰ area and Class-Ⅱ area are respectively selected as CBM optimal enrichment areas. This paper provides significant reference for subsequent CBM exploration and development in Baode block and other blocks with similar geological conditions.
