A case report of observation and nursing care for electrical storm after ICD implantation

摘要：Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) is the most effective treatment of malignant ventricular arrhythmias to prevent sudden cardiac death. ICD electrical storm is defined as occurrence of 2 times or more ventricular tachycardia (VT) or ventricular fibrillation that required ICD intervention within 24 hours after ICD implantation,which can develop at any time after operation.Aside from some cases that could be ended by automatic conversing or ATP(anti-tachycardia pacing),most need ICD electrical cardioversion in the event of ICD electrical storm.But,repeated electrical cardioversion will cause myocardial injury and lead to elevated troponin,especially cause severe psychological trauma to patients1-3.Our department treated a 59-year-old patient with ICD electrical storm in November 2011.We get satisfactory results after intensive care.The nursing course is reported as follows.
