摘要:Thanks to the development of new medical technologies and improvement in medical care the last decades are characterized by the growth of elderly's number. The median age of the world's population is increasing because of a decline in birth rates and a 20-year increase in the average life span during the second half of the 20th century.During 2000-2030,the worldwide population aged > 65 years is projected to increase from 6.9% to 12.0% worldwide,[1] and is projected to almost triple in developing countries.[1] The growing number of older adults increases demands on the public health system and on medical and social services.Chronic diseases, which affect older adults disproportionately, contribute to disability and diminish their quality of life.It especially refers to cardiovascular diseases which have an age-associated epidemiology.
