摘要：Heart failure (HF) is a widespread clinic-al syndrome worldwide that imposesan enormous burden on healthcare sys-tems.[1,2] Loop diuretics are one of the cornerstones for treating HF, considering that extracellular fluid volume expansion plays a crucial role in the pathogen-esis of congestive HF.[3] According to recent European registries, diuretics are prescribed in more than 80％of hospitalized and discharged patients with HF, in-cluding outpatients.[4] Furthermore, torasemide, a high-ceiling loop diuretic, was approved in 1993 for treating edema associated with congestive HF, ren-al dysfunction, and hepatic disease.[5] This diuretic medication has potential advantages in multiple as-pects of HF management, although furosemide is the most commonly used loop diuretic for HF.
