Modified Removable Sutures in Trabeculectomy

摘要：Objective To develop a simple removable suture that not only Prevents complica-tions of over filtration but provides sufficient outflow of aqueous after trabecileetomy. Methods80 eyes of 70 patients with Primary angle-closure glaucoma were randomly and equally divided into 2groups: each eye of the experimental group received 4 permanent and 2 removable scleral flap suturesand each of the control group received 4 permanent scleral flap sutures. Results After a mean fol-low-up of 27. 3 months(24 -36 months) ,the incidences of shallow anterior chamber and lens opacityiin the experimental group were 10. 0 % and 5. 0 % respectively, while the incidences of shallow anteri-or chamber and lens opacity in the control group were 32. 5% and 25. 0% respectively ( P＜ 0. 05).The control rates of intraocular pressure(lOP) in the experimental group and in the control group were92. 5% and 85. 0% respectively (P＞0. 05). Concltlsion This showed that removable suturescould reduce effectively the incidence of complications and at the same time maintain high control rate ofintraocular irressure after trabeculectormy.
