Stem cells: a new strategy for treatment of infections

摘要：Infections by bacteria,fungi,or other microorganisms are common clinical diseases that cause millions of deaths every year.The development of antibiotic resistance in bacteria and other microorganisms presents new challenges for treatment of infectious diseases.Stem cell proliferation and differentiation (SCPD),the key physiological processes in all multicellular organisms,plays crucial roles throughout the development and recovery from infectious diseases in the fight against pathogen invasion in multicellular organisms.Manipulation of SCPD has potentiality as a general method for treatment or prevention of infectious diseases.
