摘要:Objective Osteoid osteoma of the metacarpal bone is rare. This report describes the diagnosis and treatment of a case involving the metacarpal condyle to improve the understanding of this tumor. Methods A 51-years-old male presented with an 8-month history of pain and swelling on the dorsum of the left hand, which aggravated at night but relieved by oral ibuprofen.Radiographs and CT scans revealed a hypodense lesion with central calcification and surrounding cortical thickening in the distal condyle of the fourth metacarpal bone.Curettage of the lesion was performed. Results Postoperatively, the patient experienced complete pain relief.Histopathological examination confirmed osteoid osteoma. No recurrence was observed during a one-year follow-up.Conclusions Osteoid osteoma of the metacarpal condyle is rare.Diagnosis relies on clinical symptoms, physical examination, and imaging data.Lesion curettage is an important treatment.
