摘要:Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of tonsil sonication of ordinary greyhound with focused ultrasound. Material and method Desired focused ultrasound dosage combination were got from ox liver experi-ment in vitro. Bilateral tonsils of four common greyhound were sonicated with the selected dosage combination,the local and systematic symptoms and signs of the greyhound were observed after ultrasound sonication,the length and width before and after sonication were measured,and the histological change under light microscope were recorded. Results The temperatures of animals raised and then dropped to the normal level 3 days after sonication. The tonsil size become smaller to different degree after focused ultrasound sonication by a dose dependent model,with the shrinkage up to 44.5%. There is no infection,hematoma and bleeding in the local mucosal tissue. The food-intake of animal reduced 2 to 3 days after the sonication,but they did not stop eating or refused eating. Their food-intake began to recover to the primary level be-fore sonication 4 days after the sonication. It was found that there is coagulation necrosis region,hemangiectasia and hyperemia under mucosal membrane,while the surface epithelial appeared to be normal in the tonsil 3 days after the irradiation. There was granulation generated under tonsil mucosa and necrotic tissue gradually became fibrosis 7 days after sonication. Conclusion Focused ultrasound could reduce the tonsil size of the common greyhound,and obtain ablation effect by dose dependent model. There was no local bleeding infection and surrounding tissue injury during and post irradiation,and the epithelium of mucosal membrane was intact.
