Characteristics of Ozone Changes in Guangning County and Their Relationship with Meteorological Factors
Abstract:In order to further improve pollution forecasting, this study used hourly O3 concentration data and hourly meteorological data from Guangning County from 2019 to 2023 to analyze the annual, seasonal, monthly, and daily variation characteristics of O3 concentration and its relationship with meteorological factors. It also set meteorological thresholds for building a pollution warning system. The results show that O3 pollution in the urban area of Guangning County showed a fluctuating upward trend from 2019 to 2023, mainly occurring from late spring to early summer and late summer to early autumn. The daily variation of O3 concentration showed a single-peak distribution, with the minimum value appearing at 06:00-07:00 and the maximum value at 15:00-16:00. Daily temperature difference, daily maximum temperature, and hours of sunshine were significantly positively correlated with O3 concentration, while relative humidity and minimum relative humidity were significantly negatively correlated. High temperature (≥30°C), low humidity (0%–40%), and low wind speed (0–3 m·s⁻¹) can be used as meteorological thresholds for setting up a pollution warning system.
