Abstract:To investigate the chemical characteristics of particulate matter during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit,a sampling of PM2.5 in Beijing,Tianjin,Shijiazhuang,Jinan and Baoding was made during Oct.3 and 20 2014.The result showed that the atmospheric diffusion conditions were better during the APEC than after, especially in Beijing and Shijiazhuang. The average concentrations of PM2.5 were between 85 μg/m3 and 99 μg/m3,with the highest concentration in Shijiazhuang, and the lowest in Baoding and Beijing.Secondary irons such as NO3-,SO42-and NH4+ were of the highest concentrations in both cities and the ratios of NO3-/SO42-were between 1.3~2.6 showing that mobile were the dominate source, while after the APEC summit the ratio of Baoding and Shijiazhuang fell below 1,indicating that stationary sources (coal burning) were important.Ratios of OC/EC were between 3.1~3.7 showing secondary reaction during the APEC summit.Concentrations of elements were obviously lower during the APEC summit indicating that both construction, soil and industrial emission were controlled effectively.
