Breeding Experiment of 'Longke 12' Carp in Northern Ponds
Abstract:The 'Longke 12' carp was bred by combining the advantages of Yunnan bighead carp and Nenjiang carp through a method of hybridization, selfing, and backcrossing. This variety has a fast growth rate, high survival rate, rich nutrition, and broad market prospects. Under the same breeding conditions, the muscle fat level of 'Longke 12' carp at 18 months of age increased by 137.18% and 65.59% compared to other carp species; there was no significant difference compared to bighead carp. To evaluate the growth performance of 'Longke 12' carp, this study used locally bred carp as a control and conducted a growth performance comparison of carp in the beach area of Songhua Lake in Jilin, aiming to provide theoretical support for the healthy breeding of this variety in the Jilin region.
