Investigation on the Breeding Effect of the Chinese Mitten Crab 'Shenjiang No. 1'
Abstract:In recent years, the profit of the Chinese mitten crab industry has been continuously declining, mainly due to the poor quality of seedlings, which leads to problems such as frequent diseases, poor capture rate, and low yield during subsequent breeding processes. The variety of Chinese mitten crab 'Shenjiang No. 1' was approved by the National Variety Certification Committee in 2024 (GS-01-010-2024). Under the same breeding conditions, 90% of the individuals of this variety shed their shells for reproduction 11 days earlier than conventional varieties, allowing them to be sold in large quantities before the National Day holiday, with a survival rate of over 50% for adult crabs.
