The influence of fineness to the coking properties of lean coal
BAI Yong-jian
Abstract:Size grading was conducted to a lean coal sample with relatively high content of inertinite.Coking tests were carried out on the samples of raw coal and products of different size in size grading, followed by coal-blending coking tests with a fat coal sample. The results have showed that the coal qualities changed during the size grading and that higher coal qualities were found of the products of smaller size. Higher coking properties were found of cokes derived from lean coal of smaller size, especially coke strength after reaction (CSR), both in the coking tests of single coal and blending coal.
