Exploring the Prevention and Treatment of Asymptomatic COVID-19 Infections from the Perspective of the Hidden Pathogenic Factor Theory
Abstract:Exploring the prevention and treatment of asymptomatic COVID-19 infections (ACIC) from the perspective of the hidden pathogenic factor theory. By tracing back to the hidden pathogenic factor theory, this study analyzes its relevance to the occurrence of ACIC. This study believes that the hidden pathogenic factor is similar to the characteristics of ACIC's onset. ACIC occurs due to infection with the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), and the hidden pathogenic factor refers to the invasion of pathogenic factors. During the struggle between the body's vital energy and the pathogenic factors, when the vital energy is not strong enough to overcome the pathogenic factors, ACIC may progress to symptomatic infection. According to the characteristics of the hidden pathogenic factor causing disease, the treatment emphasizes prevention before illness occurs, using the method of strengthening the spleen to generate lung qi, reinforcing the lungs and consolidating the skin pores to resist external pathogens, and strengthening the spleen and invigorating qi to maintain internal stability. At the same time, for existing diseases, prevention of progression is emphasized, combining micro- and macro-discrimination, and promoting the body's vital energy while eliminating the pathogenic factors, which can be treated with a general formula. For the state where no syndrome can be identified, a method combining disease identification with constitution identification is used, achieving harmony between disease and constitution.
