Clinical Observation of Compound Huangqin Mouthwash Combined with Oral Surgery for the Treatment of Thyroid Cancer
Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical effect of compound Huangqin mouthwash combined with oral surgery for the treatment of thyroid cancer (TC). Methods: A total of 64 TC patients who underwent surgery at Hebi People's Hospital from July 2021 to June 2024 were randomly divided into an observation group (32 cases) and a control group (32 cases). Both groups received oral TC surgery. The control group used furacilin solution (0.02%) for rinsing, while the observation group used compound Huangqin mouthwash for rinsing. The perioperative indicators, pain conditions, incision healing quality, incision bacterial infection status, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in intraoperative blood loss and operation time between the two groups (P > 0.05). The incision healing time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). On postoperative days 1, 3, 5, and 7, the visual analog scale (VAS) scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P < 0.05). The incision healing quality of the observation group was better than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). On postoperative days 3 and 7, the number of bacteria at the incision site in the observation group was less than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Compound Huangqin mouthwash combined with oral surgery for the treatment of TC can inhibit bacterial proliferation, shorten the postoperative incision healing time, reduce postoperative pain, and improve incision healing quality.
