Effect of Acupuncture Combined with Staged Rehabilitation Training on Motor Function in Patients with Hemiplegia After Cerebral Hemorrhage
Abstract:Objective: To analyze the effect of acupuncture combined with staged rehabilitation training on motor function in patients with hemiplegia after cerebral hemorrhage. Methods: A total of 80 patients with spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage-induced hemiplegia who visited the Department of Rehabilitation at Luoyang Central Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University from June 2021 to June 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received staged rehabilitation training, while the observation group received acupuncture treatment in addition to the rehabilitation training. The efficacy, TCM syndrome scores, neurological function [National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score], motor function [Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) score], balance ability [Berg Balance Scale (BBS) score], walking function [Functional Ambulation Category (FGA) score], daily living ability [Activities of Daily Living (ADL) scale], and quality of life [Quality of Life Enjoyment and Satisfaction Questionnaire-74 (GQOLI-74)] were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group (95.00%) was higher than that in the control group (80.00%), with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the scores for limb weakness, hemiplegia, numbness, and edema in both groups were lower than before treatment, and the observation group had lower scores than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the NIHSS scores of both groups were lower than before treatment, while the FMA scores were higher, and the observation group had lower NIHSS scores and higher FMA scores than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the FGA and BBS scores of both groups were higher than before treatment, and the observation group had higher scores than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the ADL and GQOLI-74 scores of both groups were higher than before treatment, and the observation group had higher scores than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with staged rehabilitation training is effective in treating hemiplegia after spontaneous cerebral hemorrhage, which can alleviate neurological deficits, improve motor function, and enhance quality of life.
