Efficacy Observation of Floating Needle Combined with Muscle Energy Technique in Treating Perineal Wound Pain After Normal Delivery
Abstract:Objective: To observe the efficacy of floating needle combined with muscle energy technique (MET) in treating patients with perineal wound pain after normal delivery. Methods: A total of 60 patients who experienced perineal wound pain after normal delivery at the Department of Obstetrics of Yuebei People's Hospital from January 2023 to July 2023 were recruited as the study subjects. The patients were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received conventional rehabilitation combined with MET treatment, while the observation group received floating needle combined with MET treatment on top of conventional rehabilitation. The pain level, daily living ability, lower limb motor function, and psychological state of the two groups were compared. Results: After treatment, the visual analog scale (VAS) scores and self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) scores of both groups were lower than before treatment, while the Fugl-Meyer lower limb motor function assessment (FMA-LE) scores and activities of daily living (ADL) scores were higher than before treatment. Moreover, the VAS and SAS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, while the FMA-LE and ADL scores were higher, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). The total satisfaction rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Floating needle combined with MET can significantly improve perineal wound pain in patients after normal delivery, enhance their ability to perform daily self-care, reduce psychological anxiety, and improve patient satisfaction.
