Efficacy of Tanreqing Combined with Meropenem in Patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Abstract:Objective: To explore the efficacy of Tanreqing combined with Meropenem in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods: A total of 187 COPD patients admitted to the Central Hospital of Jiaozuo Coal Industry Group Co., Ltd. from February 2023 to April 2024 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into an observation group (94 cases) and a control group (93 cases) using a random number table method. The control group received Meropenem treatment, while the observation group received Tanreqing treatment in addition to the treatment of the control group. The clinical efficacy, pulmonary function, oxygen metabolism indicators, hospitalization duration, symptom relief time, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group (93.62%) was higher than that of the control group (83.87%), with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the FEV1, FEV1/FVC, and FVC of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After treatment, the VO2 and ERO2 of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, while DO2 and SaO2 were higher, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). The hospitalization duration, temperature recovery time, cough disappearance time, and lung sound disappearance time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the overall incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Tanreqing combined with Meropenem can improve clinical efficacy, shorten hospitalization and symptom relief time, and improve pulmonary function and oxygen metabolism in patients with COPD.
