Observation on the Effect of Tiaoshen Yizhi Acupuncture Combined with Donepezil Hydrochloride in the Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease
Abstract:Objective: To analyze the effect of Tiaoshen Yizhi acupuncture combined with donepezil hydrochloride in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. Methods: A total of 106 patients with Alzheimer's disease admitted to Henan Provincial Workers' Hospital from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected as the study subjects, and randomly divided into observation group and control group by coin toss method, with 53 cases in each group. The control group received donepezil hydrochloride treatment, while the observation group received Tiaoshen Yizhi acupuncture treatment in addition to the treatment of the control group. The clinical efficacy, mental state, self-care ability, serum laboratory indicators, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Barthel Index (BI) in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the levels of serum tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), homocysteine (Hcy), and C-reactive protein (CRP) were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: The application of Tiaoshen Yizhi acupuncture combined with donepezil hydrochloride in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease can enhance clinical efficacy, improve patients' mental state, enhance self-care ability, inhibit inflammatory response, and has fewer adverse reactions.
