Effect of Qifeng Dingchuan Decoction Combined with Budesonide on Wind Asthma Syndrome in Children During the Acute Exacerbation Phase of Asthma
Abstract:Objective: To observe the effect of Qifeng Dingchuan Decoction combined with Budesonide in treating children with wind asthma syndrome during the acute exacerbation phase of asthma. Methods: A total of 96 children with wind asthma syndrome during the acute exacerbation phase of asthma admitted to Gongyi Public Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 48 cases in each group. The control group received Budesonide treatment, while the observation group received additional Qifeng Dingchuan Decoction treatment. The clinical efficacy, pulmonary function, serum inflammatory factor levels, immune function, and incidence of adverse reactions before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.75%, significantly higher than 79.17% in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the FEV1, FVC, peripheral blood CD3+, and CD4+ levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the serum levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8 and the peripheral blood CD8+ levels were lower, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the overall incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Qifeng Dingchuan Decoction combined with Budesonide can enhance clinical efficacy, improve pulmonary function, inhibit inflammatory responses, regulate immune function, and does not increase adverse reactions in children with wind asthma syndrome during the acute exacerbation phase of asthma.
