Study on the Effect of Acupoint Massage Combined with Physical Factor Rehabilitation Therapy on Edema Reduction in Patients with Ovarian Cancer After Surgery
Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of acupoint massage combined with physical factor rehabilitation therapy on edema reduction in patients with ovarian cancer after surgery. Methods: A total of 93 patients with ovarian cancer admitted to the Central Hospital of Zhumadian City from March 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the study subjects. According to the random number table method, they were divided into a control group (46 cases) and an observation group (47 cases). Both groups received radical surgery for ovarian cancer. The control group received physical factor rehabilitation therapy after surgery, while the observation group received acupoint massage in addition to the above treatment. The clinical efficacy, limb circumference at various sites, edema symptom scores, and limb function before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the limb circumference at various sites in both groups decreased compared to before treatment, and the observation group showed a greater reduction, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the symptom scores of both groups were lower than those before treatment, and the observation group had lower scores, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). After treatment, the lower limb venous reflux time in both groups was shorter than before treatment, and the observation group was shorter, while the number of times performing the 30-second chair standing test was higher than before treatment, and the observation group had more times. The tissue water ratio was also lower than before treatment, and the observation group had a lower value, with a statistically significant difference (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Acupoint massage combined with physical factor rehabilitation therapy has an exact therapeutic effect in the treatment of lymphedema after ovarian cancer surgery, which can effectively reduce the limb circumference, improve clinical symptoms, and enhance limb function.
