Clinical Effect of Manual Release Combined with Rehabilitation Training on Postpartum Low Back Pain
Abstract:Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of manual release combined with rehabilitation training on postpartum low back pain. Methods: A total of 60 patients with postpartum low back pain admitted to Yunxiao County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from April 2023 to December 2024 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and a treatment group using a random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received rehabilitation training, while the treatment group received manual release in addition to rehabilitation training. The clinical efficacy, pain intensity, lumbar function, quality of life, transverse abdominal muscle thickness, and lumbar range of motion were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of treatment in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment, the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) scores of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group, while the scores of the Short Form-36 Health Survey (SF-36) were higher, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the transverse abdominal muscle thickness, lumbar flexion, and extension range of motion in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion: Manual release combined with rehabilitation training can enhance the therapeutic effect in patients with postpartum low back pain, alleviate pain, promote recovery of lumbar function, improve quality of life, and enhance transverse abdominal muscle thickness and lumbar range of motion.
