Meta analysis of metoprolol combined with amiodarone in the treatment of atrial fibrillation

Abstract：Objective To compare the efficacy of amiodarone combined with metoprolol in the treatment of atrial fi-brillation.Methods Searched Cochrane Library, PubMed, Wanfang database, VIP database, CNKI, Chinese biomedical lit-erature database ( network version) , included from January 2005 to September 2015 data of amiodarone and metoprolol in the treatment of real fibrillation related literature, using RevMan 5.2 software to perform the meta-analysis.Results Meta analy-sis results showed that the clinical curative effect of the total efficiency ( Z =6.78, P <0.01; OR=367, 95% CI 2.52-5.34), before and after treatment, left atrial diameter changes ( Z =12.69, P <0.01; MD =5.33, 95% CI 6.15 -4.50), before and after the treatment, left ventricular ejection fraction changes ( Z =2.51, P =0.001; OR=1.94, 95%CI 0.43-3.46).Comparison the difference between the two groups has statistical significance.Incidence of adverse drug re-actions ( Z =1.47, P =0.14;OR=1.50, 95%CI 0.87-2.57), there was no significant difference between the 2 groups (P >0.05).The funnel plots are symmetrical, and there was little possibility of bias.Conclusion Metoprolol and amioda-rone in treatment of atrial fibrillation has good clinical effect, it can improve the cardiac function and adverse reactions with no significant difference from single drug treatment.
