Research progress of microbiota brain gut axis and central nervous system
ZHU Xiqun
Abstract:The gut and the brain communicate bi-directionally through the nerve, endocrine and immune, establis-hing what is known as the gut brain axis, one of them changes will affect another. The discovery that the gut microbiome can produce neurotransmitter molecules that can then influence the enteric nervous system and CNS, ultimately led to the concept of the"microbiota gut brain axis". Due to the complex interaction between the intestines and the brain, the microbiome in the gut are closely related to various diseases of the central nervous system, such as Parkinson's disease,Alzheimer's disease, Schizophrenia and Multiple Sclerosis. This article summarizes the research progress on the relationship between the intestinal microorganism and the central nervous system function and disease.
