A case of acute myocardial infarction caused by atypical coronary artery spasm, avoiding stent implantation
Abstract:This case is an acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) with failed thrombolysis in another hospital. When referred to the Affiliated Shiyan Taihe Hospital of Hubei Medical College, the patient had been experiencing chest pain for more than 24 hours. Emergency coronary angiography showed diffuse lesions in the right coronary artery. During the interventional treatment, it was accidentally found that this case belongs to acute myocardial infarction (AMI) caused by coronary artery spasm (CAS). In the end, stent implantation was avoided, which belongs to an atypical type of CAS-induced AMI. The diagnostic and therapeutic experience of this case is now shared.
