Chinese Expert Consensus on Hemoadsorption in Critical Care (2025)
Abstract:In recent years, hemoadsorption (HA), as an important technology in the field of extracorporeal blood purification, has shown unique value in the treatment of severe conditions such as sepsis, severe acute pancreatitis (SAP), poisoning, and rhabdomyolysis (RM). However, with the continuous expansion of clinical applications, this technology faces many challenges: first, there are numerous types of adsorbent materials with significant differences in mechanisms and clearance efficiency, leading to a lack of unified standards for clinical selection; second, existing research results show high heterogeneity. On one hand, some randomized controlled trials have not confirmed the improvement of HA on mortality; on the other hand, observational studies mostly suggest that HA can reduce inflammatory mediators and improve hemodynamics. The optimal timing of treatment, type of membrane material, and anticoagulation strategies remain unstandardized across different disease scenarios.
