Left Coronary Artery Originating from the Right Coronary Sinus Causing Acute Myocardial Infarction in a Child Misdiagnosed as Acute Myocarditis: A Case Report
Abstract:Left coronary artery originating from the right coronary sinus is a type of congenital cardiovascular malformation where the coronary artery arises abnormally from the aorta. It can cause exercise-induced syncope or even sudden death. Patients may have no obvious symptoms under normal conditions, making it easily overlooked in clinical practice. Exercise can trigger severe cardiovascular events. This article reports a case of a child presenting with syncope during exercise, initially diagnosed with acute myocarditis. Subsequent diagnosis was made through coronary CT angiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, revealing acute myocardial infarction caused by left coronary artery originating from the right coronary sinus.
