Risk Stratification and Multidisciplinary Team Management in Pregnancy Complicated by Heart Disease
Abstract:Pregnancy complicated by heart disease is one of the main causes of maternal mortality. In China, it ranks second in the list of causes of maternal death, and is the most common non-direct obstetric cause of death. With the increasing number of elderly and comorbid pregnant women, its incidence is on the rise. The diagnosis and treatment of pregnancy complicated by heart disease cannot be completed by a single department of obstetrics; it involves multiple clinical disciplines such as cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, anesthesiology, intensive care medicine, and neonatology. Timely communication and efficient collaboration between departments are key to successful diagnosis and treatment.
