Abstract:Objective: To synthesize, purify and characterize FITC-labeled thymopentin ( FITC-TP5 ). Methods; FITC was covalently connected to TP5 and the incipient mole ratio was 3:1. FITC-TP5 was separated and purified by ionic-exchange and gel-filtration chromatographic column methods. The structure of FITC-TP5 was identified by the mass spectrum. The amino acid connected to FITC was determined by amino acid analyzer. Bio-logical activity was evaluated by MTT method. Results; FITC-TP5 was a single labeled marker, and FITC was connected to arginine. Furthermore, FITC-TP5 remained the biological activity of TP5. Conclusion; FITC-TP5 synthesized in this study has a high purity and good biological activity.
