摘要:The cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway(CAP)has garnered significant attention in recent years as a novel therapeutic strategy for osteoarthritis(OA).This review aims to summarize and evaluate the research progress on the application of CAP in the treatment of OA.The CAP alleviates inflammatory responses and pain associated with OA by activating cholinergic receptors,thereby improving joint function in patients.Mechanistic studies have demonstrated that cholinergic receptor agonists can inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators,reduce arthritic inflammation,and modulate the excitability of nociceptive neurons.Animal experiments have shown that cholinergic receptor agonists mitigate inflammation and pain in arthritic mice while promoting cartilage repair and regeneration.However,further research is needed to elucidate its mechanisms of action,advantages,and potential side effects,as well as to conduct larger-scale clinical trials to validate its efficacy.The investigation of CAP as a treatment for OA offers new therapeutic options for patients and provides a promising direction for the development of future treatment strategies.
