摘要:The skull base generally refers to the anterior,middle and posterior cranial fossa and structures on the outside side of these skull areas.The cranial roof and skull base are separated by a line connecting the external occipital protuberance,parietal notch and supraorbital ridge [1].The skull base supports the brain above,is connected to muscles,fascia,ligaments and bones below and contains multiple foramens and fissures,through which pass nerves,blood vessels and the medulla that are vital in maintaining life.Skull base is important for the practice of otolaryngology head and neck surgery.
