Nursing management for ICANS of CAR T-cell therapy in B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia摘要:Objective:Immune effector cell-associated neurotoxic syndrome(ICANS)is one of the most concerning complications because of its life-threatening trait during chimeric antigen receptor(CAR)T-cell therapy and requires specialized management.We summarized the nursing procedures of CAR T-cell therapy for ICANS to provide some references for the standardized nursing care of ICANS.
Methods:Based on previous experience and literature research,the professional team developed nursing procedures for ICANS for patients receiving CAR T-cell therapy.
Results:The professional team developed step-by-step,sophisticated care procedures before,during,and after ICANS,including active communication and collaboration,knowledge updates,personalized nursing plans,advanced assessments,close monitoring of vital signs and laboratory tests,medication plans,timely and correct drug administration,dietary nursing interventions,safety care,nursing of other complications,follow-up of toxicities,and keeping an eye on the potential side effects.
Conclusions:ICANS is unique,with varying clinical symptoms and rapid progression.Timely and accurate treatment and care of patients is an effective way to manage ICANS.Professional and detailed procedures are required to guide nurses to manage patients' ICANS,so as to improve the safety of patients and the promotion of CAR T-cell therapy.

Employability tracer study of Bachelor of Science in nursing graduates from a catholic university in the Philippines摘要:Objective:To assess the employability of Bachelor of Science in Nursing(BSN)graduates from a Catholic university in the Philippines,focusing on identifying program strengths,weaknesses,and relevance in preparing graduates for the nursing profession.Nursing education plays a crucial role in shaping the employability and competence of graduates,particularly in the dynamic healthcare landscape of the Philippines.Evaluating the employability of BSN graduates provides essential insights into program effectiveness and relevance,contributing to ongoing discussions in nursing education and practice.
Methods:Employing a mixed-methods approach,this study involved surveying recent BSN graduates to profile their employment status,employer types,positions held,workplace characteristics,job search experiences,income levels,and alignment of current jobs with the BSN program.Additionally,the study evaluated the relevance of BSN competencies and gathered feedback from graduates to identify program strengths and weaknesses.The study utilized a survey instrument and qualitative analysis techniques to analyze the data.
Results:The findings indicate that a majority of BSN graduates secured regular employment,predominantly in private institutions as staff nurses,both nationally and internationally.Most graduates attained employment within 6 months of graduation,with favorable income levels and job roles aligning with the BSN program's objectives.The competencies acquired during the BSN program were found to align with contemporary nursing demands,highlighting the program's effectiveness.Notable strengths included patient-centered care and critical thinking skills,while weaknesses encompassed limited clinical exposure and faculty support.
Conclusions:The study highlights the importance of nursing education in facilitating the employability of graduates and meeting the evolving demands of the healthcare sector.It affirms the relevance and effectiveness of the BSN program at the Catholic university studied.Recommendations include allocating resources to address identified weaknesses and further strengthen program strengths,ultimately enhancing nursing education and practice.

Effectiveness of GIANESIA(guided imagery in Indonesian)mobile application for reducing anxiety in preoperative patients摘要:Objective:The use of technology is growing rapidly.It can also be used in nursing interventions.A technology pack can support nursing interventions.An application called guided imagery in Indonesian(GIANESIA)has been developed to reduce anxiety in preoperative patients.
Methods:A total of 42 participants joined this research.The respondents were those who would undergo surgery.We used the numeric visual analog anxiety scale(NVAAS)as the instrument to measure their anxiety levels.The participants were first given informed consent.Then,they open the application that has been installed.The process begins with participants choosing their initial anxiety score.Later,they start the therapy session,and immediately after finishing it,a pop-up bar prompts them to enter their final,posttherapy anxiety score.
Results:This study shows the effectiveness of therapy given by GIANESIA in reducing anxiety in preoperative patients with p-value=0.000(α<0.05).Also,61.9%of the participants had decreased anxiety levels after therapy with GIANESIA.
Conclusions:This study proves that providing therapy via a mobile application is effective in easing uncomfortable feelings,especially anxiety,in preoperative patients.Moving forward,the app can and should be expanded with new features and further developmental goals.

Time-to-death and predictors of mortality among preterm neonates diagnosed with neonatal sepsis,Southwest Ethiopia,2022:prospective follow-up study摘要:Objective:Neonatal sepsis is a critical pathology that particularly affects neonates,especially preterm and low birth weight neonates,with varying incidence according to the onset(early or late)of the disease.Although preterm neonatal mortality related to sepsis is high in Ethiopia and in the study area,limited studies have been conducted on the time-to-death and predictors of mortality among preterm neonates diagnosed with neonatal sepsis.Therefore,this study aimed to determine the time-to-death and predictors of mortality among preterm neonates with neonatal sepsis admitted to government hospitals in Southwest Ethiopia in 2022.
Methods:A prospective cohort study was conducted at the Southwest government hospitals between March 2021 and January 30,2022.The data were entered into Epi-data version 4.4.2.1 and exported to Stata version 14 for editing,cleaning,and analysis.The Cox proportional hazards(CPH)model was used to identify the predictors of mortality.
Results:In this study,out of 354 preterm neonates diagnosed with neonatal sepsis,121(34.18%)had died with an incidence rate of 59.8%(95%confidence interval[CI]:50-71.5)deaths per 1000 person-day-observations.The median survival time of preterm neonates diagnosed with neonatal sepsis was 15 days.The following factors were the predictors of mortality among preterm neonates diagnosed with neonatal sepsis:(1)the neonate's mother did not have antenatal care(ANC)follow-up(adjusted hazard ratio[AHR]2.5[95%CI:1.3-4.84]);(2)the neonates had an APGAR score<7(5th-minute activity,pulse,grimace,appearance,and respiration)(AHR 1.5[95%CI:1.29-3.46]);(3)and they had comorbidities such as respiratory distress syndrome(RDS)(AHR 1.50[95%CI:1.13-2.31])and jaundice(AHR 1.89[95%CI:1.26-2.84]).
Conclusions:In this study,preterm neonates diagnosed with neonatal sepsis showed a higher incidence of mortality compared with other national and local studies.The median survival time of neonates was 15 days.Born from mothers who did not have ANC follow-up,5th-minute APGAR score<7,and comorbidities such as RDS and jaundice were independent predictors of mortality among preterm neonates diagnosed with neonatal sepsis.Therefore,healthcare providers and other stakeholders should consider prompt and timely diagnosis and therapeutic interventions to preterm neonates with neonatal sepsis.

Mediating effect of organizational commitment on nurses' ethical climate and ethical behavior摘要:Objective:To study the relationship,the mediating effect of organizational commitment on nurses' ethical climate and ethical behavior.
Methods:Structural Equation Modeling(SEM)was employed to perform path analysis in this exploratory study.The participants consisted of 280 Iranian nurses who were studied through proportional random sampling.The research tool was consisted of(1)the Ethical Climate Questionnaire by Cullen and Victor,which examines the ethical standards of selfishness,philanthropy,and ethical principles,as well as the reference sources of ethical arguments,including individual,regional,and global ones;(2)Allen and Mayer's questionnaire,which measures organizational commitment in 3 areas:emotional commitment,continuous commitment,and normative commitment;and(3)Peterson's Ethical Behavior Questionnaire,which combines nine items to form interconnected ethical behaviors and is based on a 5-point Likert scale.The data were analyzed using AMOS and SPSS v.23 software.
Results:The correlation coefficient between the two variables,ethical climate and ethical behavior,showed a significant relationship(r=0.10,p=0.085).The organizational commitment showed a significant relationship between some dimensions and the total ethical climate.The ethical climate affects the organizational commitment(beta=3.261)and behavior(beta=0.121).Organizational commitment does not show any significant relationship with ethical behavior.The ethical climate affects the organizational commitment and the ethical behavior.
Conclusions:Nursing managers and nursing staff should consider the ethical climate that affects the organizational commitment and nursing ethical behavior.

The role of e-Health in stunting prevention:a systematic review摘要:Objective:To evaluate systematically and describe the utilization of stunting prevention applications.The stunting rate in Indonesia reached 24.4%in 2021,exceeding the WHO standard of<20%.Therefore,the introduction and implementation of Android applications are expected to provide pregnant women with prior information to prevent stunting in children.
Methods:This systematic review was conducted according to Prisma Checklist 2020 guidelines.A systematic literature search based on the Population,Intervention,Comparison,and Outcome(PICO)framework was conducted on 4 databases,namely PubMed,Google Scholar,Science Direct,and Scopus.The eligibility of articles was assessed using CASP and CEBM tools.
Results:The analysis of nine articles showed several models of stunting prevention applications.These include Nutrimo,which monitors children's nutrition;PODO CETING,which supports maternal understanding of the nutritional needs of toddlers;ACALS,which monitors compliance with iron supplementation;GASING,which educates on stunting prevention behaviors;Sahabat Bunda,which provides information on stunting phenomena for early prevention;Offline Stunting Application,which educates cadres on stunting;and the Stunting Service Information System Application,which serves as a center for monitoring stunting services.
Conclusions:The use of e-Health aids in preventing stunting by providing accessible and self-conducted educational and monitoring tools,eliminating the need for physical visits to health care facilities,as well as improving the health of pregnant women and infants.

Research trends and hotspots in the application of cognitive reserve for stroke-induced cognitive impairment using CiteSpace摘要:Objective:To examine the research trends and hotspots of the application of cognitive reserve in stroke cognitive impairment using CiteSpace and provide a reference for developing effective measures to reduce the incidence of cognitive impairment in these patients.
Methods:Using CiteSpace software,a visual analysis of 860 included articles related to cognitive reserve in stroke cognitive impairment patients was performed.Relevant literature regarding the application of cognitive reserve in poststroke cognitive impairment was retrieved from the Web of Science core collection database from January 2010 through January 2024.Citespace 6.3.R1(64-bit)was employed to visualize and analyze literature data,including general literature analysis,national publication distribution,literature co-citation,journal co-citation,keyword co-citation,keyword clustering,literature co-citation,and literature co-citation clustering.
Results:A total of 860 articles were retrieved,indicating a rising trend in publications in this field,with the United States leading in publication count and FRONT NEUROL being the most frequently cited journal.The most frequently cited references usually focus on the prevention and influence factors of cognitive impairment and dementia.
Conclusions:After eliminating keywords similar to the search terms,the top 3 keywords with the highest frequency and highest mediated centrality were dementia,cognitive influences,and risk factors,while education,influences,and cognitive assessment were emerging research focuses.

Challenges and prospects of introducing advanced nursing practice in Morocco:a systematic literature review摘要:Objective:This study aims to outline the background of advanced nursing practice(ANP),potential issues,and the prospects for its establishment in the Moroccan health care system.
Methods:A review was performed with databases that included articles published between 2016 and 2023.
Results:The study found 14 articles agreeing that ANP is a solution to the shortage of medical and nursing staff.Moreover,its establishment in the Moroccan health care system is subject to many challenges,which require an in-depth study.
Conclusions:The training of advanced practice nurse(APN)is needed to meet the requirements of the national health care system.It can be incorporated if the context is examined,considering all the challenges that may arise when implementing this program.

Analysis of the current situation and intervention strategies for the healthcare of disabled cancer patients based on health education in the home network hospital摘要:Objective:To understand the healthcare needs of disabled oncology patients,explore the impact of home network hospital-based health education on disabled oncology patients' healthcare needs,activity of daily living(ADL)scores,quality of survival,and caregiver burden,and to provide a reference basis for the effective implementation of health education for disabled oncology patients in the home and the improvement of their quality of life.
Methods:From May 2021 to May 2024,112 patients with ADL Scale scores ≤60 who were hospitalized in 7 tertiary-level hospitals in Guangdong Province were selected for the questionnaire survey and implementation of the intervention analysis.The 112 study subjects chosen were randomly divided into 56 in the intervention group and 56 in the control group.The patients in the control group were discharged from the hospital and followed up once a month by telephone,health education,and disease rehabilitation guidance.The intervention group constructed a home network hospital on a routine basis,utilized the micro letter public number and APP applet intervention guidance for 6 consecutive months,and used the general information questionnaire,Barthel index,SF-36 quality of life scale(the Medical Outcomes Study item short-form health survey,SF-36),the caregiver's quality of life scale(the SF-36),and the Caregiver Burden Scale ZBL(Zarit Burden Interview,ZBI),to investigate the number of care needs,quality of life,and the degree of caregiving burden of the 2 groups of patients.
Results:The quality of survival of all patients with disabling tumors was poor.Patients with moderate to severe dependence on ADL were not only impaired in physiological dimensions but also had varying degrees of reduction in psychological dimensions,with the lowest scores in physiological functioning and the highest scores in somatic pain.There was no statistically significant difference in the comparison of the general information and scores of patients in the 2 groups(P>0.05).After 3 months and 6 months of intervention,the difference in scores between the 2 groups was statistically significant(P<0.05),in which the SF-36 score of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group,and the ADL score was lower than that of the control group.There was a statistically significant difference in ADL and ZBI scores between the intervention and pre-intervention(P<0.05)groups.In the control group,after 3 months of intervention,ADL and ZBI scores were statistically different compared with pre-intervention(P<0.05);after 6 months of intervention,there was no statistical difference(P>0.05).
Conclusions:Health education based on home network hospitals can reduce the healthcare needs of disabled oncology patients and meet their safety and physiological health guidance needs.The quality of life of disabled oncology patients is at the bottom level,the burden of family care is heavy,and the burden of care for the primary caregiver is heavy.At the root of the problem,there is a lack of scientific,effective,and practical interventions,which can be sorted by clarifying the patients' needs for home care and providing targeted nursing skills can improve the quality of life of the patients and reduce somatic discomfort.

Risk factors for safe injection practice performance among nurses in general hospitals摘要:Objective:Nurses must follow safe injection practices to prevent healthcare-associated infections(HAIs).This study aimed to identify the risk factors for safe injection practice among nurses in general hospitals.
Methods:This cross-sectional study included 215 nurses employed in Korean general hospitals.Data were collected from September 22 to October 9,2023.Multiple linear regression analysis was performed using SPSS Statistics 27.0.
Results:The regression analysis revealed that a higher level of patient safety priority in the patient safety culture perception,increased knowledge of safe injection practices,and fewer working hours per week were associated with improved performance of safe injection practices among general hospital nurses.
Conclusions:To enhance the performance of general hospital nurses in safe injection practice,it is necessary to establish a patient safety culture so that nurses recognize patient safety as a top priority.Additionally,an effective educational program is needed to increase the practical knowledge of safe injection practices,along with a supportive working environment that ensures appropriate working hours to prevent patient safety incidents.

Methods:A comprehensive analysis of 697 peer-reviewed research articles(RAs)was conducted.These articles encompassed quantitative,qualitative,and mixed-methods designs.
Results:The analysis revealed a dominance of quantitative methodologies(78%)among the examined RAs.Qualitative approaches were less prevalent(14%)but showed a growing presence.Mixed-methods studies constituted approximately 7%of the analyzed articles.

Factors influencing participation in horticultural activities in nursing care homes:a qualitative study摘要:Objective:To explore the barriers and facilitators associated with the implementation of horticultural activities(HA)in nursing care homes,and aim to identify findings that will enhance the development of more effective implementation strategies for such activities.
Methods:This qualitative descriptive study recruited a purposive sample of potential adopters related to HA in nursing care homes,and the conventional content analysis method was adopted.
Results:A total of 6 older adults,3 social workers,1 nurse,and 1 physician participated in this study.The analysis revealed 4 themes barriers and 2 themes facilitators to the implementation of HA.
Conclusions:Future intervention programs should be meticulously designed to address the identified influencing factors,and the insights gained can serve as a reference for identifying and mitigating barriers in the implementation of other physical activity programs.In turn,this will contribute to improved physical functioning and healthy aging.

Effects of fall prevention program for older adults dwelling in community in Chanthaburi province:a randomized controlled trial摘要:Objective:To study the effects of fall prevention program for the community-dwelling older adults.Falling is a significant risk factor for older adults,impacting their physical and mental health and causing social and economic burdens on themselves and their families.
Methods:A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 60 older adults aged 60 years and older attending the elderly schools in Chanthaburi province,Thailand.Two elderly schools were randomly selected from 24 schools using a lottery method,then were randomly assigned to either the intervention or the control trial setting.Eligible older adults from each elderly school were randomly selected to participate in the study using a computer generator.There were 30 participants in each group.The experimental group engaged in fall prevention program training for 2 h per session per week for 6 weeks.The control group attended usual health-related activities of the school.Outcome measures before and after the intervention included:questionnaires used to assess knowledge and behaviors of fall prevention,the Fear of Falling test(Short FES-Ⅰ),the Timed Up and Go Test(TUGT),and the Thai Falls Risk Assessment Test(Thai-FRAT).
Results:The independent t-tests revealed significant differences between the experimental group and the control group.Post-intervention showed that the experimental group demonstrated better knowledge(t=5.94,P<0.001)and behaviors related to the fall prevention program knowledge(t=4.63,P<0.001),reduced fear of falling(t=-4.72,P<0.001),improved walking and balance(t=-4.85,P<0.001)and lowered risk of falling(t=-4.02,P<0.001)than the control group.
Conclusions:The fall prevention program could benefit the older adults dwellings in the community by increasing their knowledge and fall prevention behaviors,reducing their fear of falling and fall risk and improving their walking and balance,which would enhance their quality of life.

Investigation into the current state of self-care abilities and analysis of associated influencing factors among deaf individuals with tumors摘要:Objective:This study aims to investigate the current status of self-care abilities among hearing-impaired cancer patients and analyze the associated influencing factors.Based on these findings,this study aims to provide a theoretical foundation for developing targeted medical care and health education interventions for this population,ultimately formulating a practical nursing program tailored to their unique needs.
Methods:A convenience sampling method was employed to recruit 116 hearing-impaired cancer patients who met the inclusion criteria.Data collection involved 3 standardized tools:a self-designed demographic questionnaire,the Exercise of Self-Care Agency Scale(ESCA),and the Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS).Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the baseline characteristics,while multiple linear regression analysis was conducted to identify significant predictors of self-care ability.
Results:The cross-sectional survey revealed that participants had an average ESCA score of 99.55±19.53 and a mean PSSS score of 58.14±9.32.Statistical analysis identified several key factors influencing self-care ability,including the presence/absence of aphasia(P<0.001);Duration of hearing loss(P<0.01);Place of daily residence(P<0.001);Communication methods(P<0.05);Family economic status(P<0.001);and Perceived level of social support(P<0.001).
Conclusions:Hearing-impaired cancer patients exhibit moderate self-care abilities overall.There is a positive correlation between perceived social support levels and self-care ability.Critical predictors of self-care ability include demographic characteristics(residential status,duration of hearing loss),clinical features(aphasia),communication patterns,educational attainment,and socioeconomic status.This study provides valuable insights for developing targeted interventions to enhance self-care capabilities in hearing-impaired cancer patients,emphasizing the importance of addressing both personal and environmental factors.

What do nursing students know about delirium?A cross-sectional study and scenario analysis摘要:Objective:To assess the level of nursing students' knowledge about delirium and its associated risk factors.Delirium is a clinical syndrome characterized by alterations in cognition and psychomotor activity.Since delirium is common among geriatric patients,adequate preparedness of nursing students to assess and manage delirious geriatric patients is necessary to improve potential nurses' quality of care and communication with this group.Limited research work was conducted to address nursing students' knowledge about delirium.
Methods:This cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from October 2022 to February 2023.A convenience sampling was used,and 319 valid questionnaires were obtained from nursing students from six Jordanian governmental and private universities,who were at least in their third academic year.An adopted delirium knowledge scale was used to collect data.Descriptive statistics and an independent t-test were used for data analysis.
Results:The mean for general knowledge about delirium was 57.5%.The mean for knowledge of delirium risk factors was 61.8%.Nursing students in their fourth academic year scored significantly higher on both general knowledge and risk knowledge scales than students in the third academic year.
Conclusions:Nursing students' knowledge regarding delirium and its risk factors was low.Educational efforts should be maximized for incorporating and addressing the topic of delirium in the undergraduate nursing curriculum.Implications of this study include revising nursing curricula to ensure that students receive enough education on delirium,including its detection,diagnosis,and management.The implications also include giving nursing students the chance to gain experience in caring for delirious patients and providing them with the tools and resources they need to assess and manage delirium.

Home-based palliative care needs among caregivers of stroke patients in Yogyakarta,Indonesia:a qualitative phenomenology摘要:Objective:A stroke with the consequence of permanent disability leaves the sufferer dependent on the family to fulfil basic needs.Palliative care is essential for patients and their families,as caregivers,to optimize the care process and quality of life.Therefore,it is crucial to identify palliative needs for families during care.Palliative care is still limited in Indonesia.This study aimed to explore the palliative care needs of families caring for stroke patients in a home care setting in Indonesia.
Methods:This qualitative study employed a descriptive phenomenological approach and was conducted between October and November 2023 through in-depth interviews.Interviews were conducted with 10 family caregivers of stroke patients selected through purposive sampling.Interviews were also conducted with the doctor provider of homecare service as triangulation participants.The Colaizzi method was used for data analysis.
Results:Palliative care needs of family caregivers classified into five themes:(1)family perception of palliative care,(2)informational needs,(3)financial needs,(4)family members as primary care support,and(5)end of life care needs.
Conclusions:This study identified caregivers' palliative needs during patient care.The extended family and children are main care support in palliative care for family caregiver.This finding suggests that nurses should provide informational support by educating and collaborating with them regarding the provision of palliative care at home.

Parent interactions and physical aggression among Indonesian adolescents:a cross-sectional study摘要:Objective:This study aimed to examine the association between parent-child relationships and physically aggressive behavior among adolescents.
Methods:This is a cross-sectional study that uses secondary data from the 2015 Indonesia Global School-Based Health Survey(IGSHS).Health surveys were conducted in 75 schools representing three regions(Sumatra,Java-Bali;Outer Sumatra;and Java-Bali)in 26 provinces and 68 districts/cities in Indonesia(N=10,139 students).Students who participated were aged 12-19 years,were enrolled in public schools in the junior and high school levels.
Results:It has been seen that for most middle-aged adolescents(58.7%),their parents(25%-29%)pay less attention to academic assignments(homework),problems,and use of free time.The most significant factors that influence adolescents to commit violence are smoking and consuming alcohol.Adolescents who smoke are twice as likely to commit physical violence compared with adolescents who do not smoke(OR=2.005;95%CI=1.7062-2.396).Meanwhile,adolescents who consume alcohol are 1.8 times more likely to commit physical violence compared with adolescents who do not consume alcohol(OR=1.807;95%CI=1.421-2.298).
Conclusions:Through educational activities and consultations,this study's findings are valuable for establishing parenting programs among those concerned about their children's aggressive behavior.Meanwhile,counseling programs can be started in schools by conducting self-detection of negative adolescent behavior,such as screening for smoking,alcohol consumption,sleep issues,and attempted suicide.

The effect of pre-transplant and transplant care on organ quality:a cross-sectional study摘要:Objective:To determine the effect of management before and during transplantation on the quality of donated organs.Improvement of preservation methods in cases involving brain death will lead to more effective organ procurement.
Methods:Data were collected from the 226 brain death cases enrolled in the 12-month study period.All cases,patients with a Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS)score of 3 points,appropriate age,and having medical indications for organ donation,were considered to confirm the criteria of brain death.Transplant outcome data were obtained from the transplant centers.
Results:The age of the deceased ranged between 1 year and 68 years,with a mean±SD of 39.54±17.28 years.There was no significant difference between the quality of organs regarding blood group and cause of brain death(P>0.05).However,there was a significant difference in the quality of organs regarding age,body mass index(BMI),and gender.There was a significant difference between the level of urea at admission time and procurement time(P<0.001),as well as between creatinine level at admission time and procurement time(P<0.001).There was also a significant difference between aspartate aminotransferase(AST)at admission time and procurement time(P<0.001),and between alanine aminotransferase(ALT)at admission time and procurement time(P<0.001).
Conclusions:Transplant outcomes using older donor livers and kidneys were comparable to those using younger or male donors.These findings provide further evidence that decision-making about organ quality is influenced by age and gender and emphasize the importance of transparency in organ acceptance practices.
